This brief was a part of the D&AD competition for 2020. It set the challenge of using music and typography, specifically Google Fonts, to create something that represents a cause. We were be allowed to use images in our project, however, the primary source to express our cause was through typography. Response I have created a campaign designed to bring awareness to mens mental health. The campaign expresses how it is ok to feel down and spreads the message to be brave and open up on your mental health. I have selected a range of songs within the Hip hop and rap genre, taking quotes where they have opened up about their mental health. It aims to break down the stereotype that men have to bottle things up. Visually I have tried to create the feeling of feeling down, with distortions and saturated colours. Ironically I called the project ‘Boys Don’t Cry’.
