I was invited for an audition for India’s Got Talent in 2010. To be honest, I never like these kind of shows which are NOT real and is always heart breaking for many real talents who want to be famous and rich (well, that is what most people think!) As a young guy, I thought this would be a good opportunity to get some exposure so I tried, flew from Canada for the audition. My experience was really bad as it was a very unplanned chaotic event and then there was no guidance given on what to do other than just wait for whole day and perform when your time comes.
I started with “Mar Jawan” (My rap verse) and then switched to “Hindi Rap Guru” to do my hardcore sh*t. But I think the judges were confused and could not understand what I was rapping about. I wanted a good constructive criticism but they just said WE DID NOT LIKE IT!, so I moved on thinking to myself they are not ready for this, right now! I felt somewhat sad but it was ok as I was focusing on my business, being a film maker and director at that time. I would also add that I was hungry and tired by the time my audition came in the summer heat of Delhi. I just wanted to go home!
